When you were at school, did your teacher ever take you on a Field Trip to experience learning-out-of-the-classroom? Sad to say, the class Field Trip is declining in schools across the globe. Maybe leaving the classroom and entering the real world is getting too expensive or dangerous or complicated to arrange.
But The Field Trip is an inspirational way to rehearse.

That sounds like actors to me!
The most familiar Field Trip in New Zealand, my home, is the classic "Rocky Shore". Nowhere in Aotearoa is too far from a beach and so, hundreds of thousands of schoolkids have donned their hats, wind-breakers and gumboots to examine rockpools and sand-dunes, eating their packed lunch in the bus or on the beach. Memorable? Yes. What a great way to encounter each other and to learn new information.
