ECCE HOMO
In 2012 an 81 year old amateur painter restored a fresco of the face of Jesus in the Sanctuary of Mercy church in Borja, Spain. Cecelia Giménez wanted to fix the flaking paint. The portrait was originally painted in 1930 by minor Spanish artist Elías García Martínez and named Ecce Homo (Behold the Man). After 82 years in the humidity of the Spanish church it was looking like this:
