Your Burning Questions

For the past week I have had the wonderful experience of leading the Rata Studios Teen Screen-acting Intensive with 30 young actors from around the country.

You might imagine we would spend the week in a small studio, crouched over a screen and a camera. But no. As you can see from these photos, we sharpened these young actors' screen-skills by challenging them with dance, percussion, improvisation, song and games. These full-body exercises created trust and connectivity between the actors, and it was these qualities that made their screen-work at the end of the week so startlingly impressive.

These teens were lucky to have top guest speakers during the week: Marianly Tejada, the star of the Netflix series ONE OF US IS LYING; as well as Miriama McDowell (WHINA), Stefania Owen (SWEET TOOTH) and Bree Peters (SWEET TOOTH). They all talked about connection with your partner actor as the most important component in their work.
